Weekly summary
This week we talked about our container projects. We had a lecture where we got examples from the past to show us things like the drawing we will need as well as the renders. IT was very helpful to see what the end goal is especially because we don't know how to do most of these things and it was nice to see that it is possible. We also had our small group meetings to talk about what we had so far on our projects. I think mine went well. I have a good layout so far as well as some ideas for the design of the building. One thing I learned from my partner Elie is that I forgot to think about where to add storage. So I will think about that when working on the floor plans this week. We will be meeting with our mentors this coming week and I think that will be very beneficial.

    Woah girl! Amazing pictures! I love that you started to put your ideas into sketchup. Also, your inspiration pics are great examples (I think I picked a few of those too!)

    Beth,

    I really liked the fact that you include your Container Project in this week's blog! I think the fact that you added in your bubble diagrams, sketches, and inspiration for the project communicated your design intent a lot more effectively. Good job!

We were able to learn about how these container homes work and how they feel when you are inside. It was also a great example of modern design done in a colorful but also cozy way.   Blog 7 Weekly summary  This week we started to talk about the principles of Design, they are, balance harmony  rhythm  proportion scale emphasis contrast detail  We talked about balance and Harmony.  Balance is critical to feel a sense of equilibrium in a space. Balance is about achieving visual weight by strategic placement of objects as well as through lines, shapes, colors, and textures. There are three different types of balance, they are, symmetrical, asymmetrical, and radial.   Blog 3 Weekly summary  This Week we are spending most of our time on our visual wallpaper assignment. For this assignment, we use a print from the artist Alrecht Durer. We zoom in on this print and pick an area of it to draw. This assignment will teach us to see and understand visual textures as well as learn how to use line weight correctly. I chose the image of Adam and Eve. I enjoyed this image because of its complexity. only when you zoom in do you see all the details that went into it.  Alrecht Durer created this print based off of Adam and Eve in the Graden of Eden. He wanted to show them moments before the fall of man. He depicted them as perfect humans, just as God made them. I chose a section from the top right corner with a Goat standing on the ledge of a cliff. This goat represents  lust and damnation. I picked this section because I think it has a great composition with a mix of dark and light spaces. It also has a goat in it which is just fun! Reading ...
